So sorry the Zyprexa didn't work out for you. I've been on it for almost 6 years and I don't know where I'd be without it. Yes, I've gained weight on it and I've developed high cholesterol and triglycerides, but I can always take another pill. My dose has gone up gradually over the years, but 7.5 mg is still a fairly low dose and it's enough to keep the mania at bay. I'm also on Geodon for that, but I don't think it's as effective as the vitamin Z.
If I were you, I wouldn't count on Lamictal as a savior. It has its place in a good bipolar management strategy, but it's not enough for most people by itself. I hope the Neurontin will help maximize the benefits of your other BP meds.
