I think a lot of people complaining about antipsychotics aren’t taking them for psychosis....yes they typically cause weight gain and can rarely cause other side effects but when compared to being out of touch with reality these are typically not as bad. Keep in mind the illness itself can cause brain damage if left untreated. It’s definitely between a rock and a hard place but if you decide to take meds you’ll find more people support your choice than not. Most people who have returned from psychosis will only see the validity after a period on meds when they realize how far they were gone.
