I am on online dating apps and international penpal site and this site to find people who would listen to me. I think the online dating apps and penpal site have been a sheer waste of my time. I did find some people but realize I am really not interested in meeting anyone in person but just want to talk. The penpal site is ok but full of scammers. I also don't like the people who contact me. If you read my thread about the online dating app, I did find one French man who I divulge my thoughts but I don't think is really interested in reading them. Thus, I feel lonely at times. I did make one acquaintance in person but she is my former student and I don't feel it is her business to listen to my problems and thoughts. I try to keep this relationship professional. I thought it would be fun to be on online dating apps and penpal sites but realize that people on such sites are odd and that ordinary people who work and have families are not on there, of course. I am meeting very weird people on there, such as lecherous men, people who just want to crash my place to visit, and scammers. I finally figured that the ordinary people are too busy with such sites and are too busy to be bothered. But, I am still on these sites to see if I can still chat with people and just shoot the breeze.

Does anybody else go on online dating apps and penpal sites to find people to just chat and to vent? I think I must be one of the few oddballs who do this? And, do you try to meet people in person or have just online pals? Please share your thoughts!
