pastimes, sometimes my therapy is about my current struggles and sometimes it includes parts of the abuse. When I first started therapy, I had to get my current situation under control so I had a good foundation to explore the abuse. Now, I am doing therapy that does not go back and examine the abuse. I no longer talk about the specific abuse. Instead, I focus on my current feelings and then relate them to how the abuse affects me in the here and now. It is therapy that is oriented towards my daily struggles because the abuse still affects me--especially in the area of self-esteem and self-worth.
