I believe psychosis is more a state that can happen in the course of mental illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar or from drug use, but that's not true psychosis. But personalities aren't affected; who you "are" isn't your illness whether you have sz or bp. Meds can help.

People not in contact with reality are a bit scary to me because one can't contact them :-) or know in what direction their state might be taking them. It's like drug users and the problems local jails/police are having because there are so many and their behavior is unpredictable. With limited staff, that's hard to "keep track" of.
