Sleeping on the ground is better for your mind and body; it improves circulation and alignment of your spine, it clears your head and can aid and correct the body's joints. When I lived in Asia, I often slept on a straw mat in my bedroom instead of inside the mosquito net covered queen size bed. Sure, I was eaten alive at night by mosquitos despite the incense cones I burned and insect spray I used, but I slept like a rock, pretending to be a rock on the ground. I slept without a pillow, sideways on the straw mat. And was super comfy.
