Personally, I would NEVER mention a mental health issue when you are applying for a job and when you are starting a new job. It will be used against you and you will be discriminated against, even if you mention something common like "depression."
If you get the job, by law (The American Disabilities Act) you have the RIGHT to have your workplace accomadate your disabilities, and this does include mental health. You might have to go through human resources to be able to get your day off, but your immediate supervisor will never know your condition.
I would be very careful about telling people your private issues regarding MH care. If the job is for 5 days and you want 4, do you really think telling your boss you can only work 4 days because you need to see a shrink is helpful? On top of not working 5 days, he may see you as "ill" and not dependable.
Wait until you have the job and go through the proper channels (ie Disabilities Act stuff)
