If You don't want to confront them directly, can you send them a letter? Just write one and leave it at their door. It will then be up to them whether they want to read it Or Accept Your Apology, but at the very least you'll be able to get it out, sort to speak, and you'll be able to apologize to them! Give it a thought and I hope things will get better soon. If they keep being rude to you and they keep causing damage to your Property, perhaps file a complaint to your Landlord or whoever else is in charge of the place.
