Zoloft definitely causes weight gain. It did for me, and I know others (especially women) who gained weight from Zoloft. For one thing, it increases estrogen...which increases weight gain.

I do not like it that your husband nags you about losing weight. It's cruel and it's dangerous. And I'll tell you what, stress raises cortisol and elevated cortisol contributes to weight gain.

If you say to your husband, "Hey, I want to lose some weight. Can you help me out by not encouraging me to eat (weight gaining foods)?" and he agrees in a supportive, loving manner - great.

But to imply that you should be guilty for eating *whatever* - uh-uh. That is not cool in the least. It is not okay for him to tell you to fast, to starve yourself, or whatever. Because he's making your body his issue and that is BS.
