I do not like it that your husband nags you about losing weight. It's cruel and it's dangerous. And I'll tell you what, stress raises cortisol and elevated cortisol contributes to weight gain.
If you say to your husband, "Hey, I want to lose some weight. Can you help me out by not encouraging me to eat (weight gaining foods)?" and he agrees in a supportive, loving manner - great.
But to imply that you should be guilty for eating *whatever* - uh-uh. That is not cool in the least. It is not okay for him to tell you to fast, to starve yourself, or whatever. Because he's making your body his issue and that is BS.

Thanks for saying this. At least i know I'm not crazy in being upset. I've even mentioned something along the lines of the stress/cortisol, but over his head it goes. I'm also glad to hear that it could still be the meds. I went off Abilify because of suspected weight gain (and plus I probably maybe don't actually have bipolar afterall. I dunno), but yea I still didn't lose as much as I gained. I don't think I can go off the AD though. I'm going to talk to my doctor about my husband saying these things. The bottom line though is that he never used to be like this. In fact, he was quite the opposite! But his family is getting in his head because they worry due to the fact that they've had health problems due to weight and just don't want to see me go through that path. Sigh!
