Uhhhh...nope. I don't think you're crazy at all. I spent time living on a kibbutz in Israel and experienced what it's like to do meaningful work for the good of the collective and not to constantly worry about losing utilities, car, being homeless.
I believe that our society if effed beyond belief. I just try to keep going...and hoping.
