So, my therapist saw my son today. He’s actually been doing a little better the last 2 days remarkably (and thankfully) so the appointment was a little less somber. She said the same things you guys did—make sure everything is locked up in case he becomes psychotic. But, she honestly wasn’t overly concerned about that part for now. He is acting out in no way so these are clearly just disturbing thoughts. She said she thinks that he is seeing and hearing things, normal things (not hallucinations, just from peers, media, etc), for his age group, but likely because of his autism he is holding onto them in this scary way. She told me she thinks he should see someone who specializes in autism instead of her and gave me some names. She even said to wait to schedule with a pdoc until I talk to them as it may not be necessary (a method for processing the thoughts may resolve his issues). So I have an appt with one specialist tomorrow and one on Wed. Praying one of them works well.
