Have you ever tried intermittent fasting before? That is basically where you only eat for a scheduled 8 hours a day and fast for the other 16 hours. It's not a 24 hour fast or fad diet either. Lots of information online about how to follow the 16/8 intermittent fasting schedule. You eat the foods you want but only within an 8 hour window.
