You have given a good assessment of the situation.
That is a rapid heart rate. He must be in considerable pain during those 3-4 minutes...
How long has this been going on? (I just reread...few weeks. not good).
since it is going on both sides...I really don't know what to think. Gas bubbles can be excruciating.
Does he have any pain meds that he can take?
I think a visit to his MD ....or at least talk to his nurse...so he can be seen.
