I'm sorry I can't tell you whether or not this psychologist is going to be able to help you to rid yourself of your HOCD. (I doubt anyone can tell you that.) I know you don't want to waste time on another effort if it's not going to bring about the desired result. But, unfortunately, I don't believe there is any other way except to try.
The one thing I know, from reading articles in PC's archives, is that one of the most highly recommended therapies for OCD seems to be ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention therapy), which is (as I understand it) considered to be a type of CBT. It is my understanding, though, that it is very important ERP therapy be conducted by a psychologist or therapist who specializes in providing that type of therapy.
