No, if you have somebody on ignore, then when they post, you only see their name, not the content of what they posted. And you are right, they cant post on a thread you start, or quote you in a post (aka reply to you). There is a loophole where you CAN see temporarily see a single ignored post without going thru the process of un-ignoring the person, so you dont drive yourself crazy.
