This is part of my meditation strategy.

First, I dwell on a quote belonging to a literary author or well-known person. It can be anything providing the words are uplifting, magnifying the soul.

Example: 'Jewel-like immortal does not boast of its length of years, but of the scintillating point of its moment. The child ever dwells in the mystery of ageless time, unobscured by the dust of history.'

-Fireflies, excerpt, Rabindranath Tagore, 1861-1941, India.

Then I enter my area of meditation.

Feel the cold breeze on your skin.

Listen to the voices, the leaves, the birds in the trees and the cars in the distance.

I listen.

The people, their sounds, the sun streaming through the leaves - everything slowly comes into focus.

I begin to relax: First, my mind, then my body.

Inside, a calmness sweeps over me, and I feel ready to face the day.
