I'm torn with these electronic devices because I really do need them: eg. my job, such as a SatPhone or, when in an area where internet is difficult to access then I'll use my ISatHub. Both of these exotic devices are by Inmarsat, if anyone is interested.
I have an iPhone 11 Pro, but don't feel I have to be chained to it, unless receiving an emergency call from family members during my working hours. One useful addition is using a VPN for my laptop and phone. We all have this as it's essential for cybersecurity, especially in potentially risky WiFi areas, or for when we have to do financial transactions online.
Frankly, for my family and I there is no place in the bedroom for electronics. My daughter and her best friend is good with this; they switch off their phones and iPads before bedtime. She's always done this, and I am pleased and relieved because I know I don't need to ask her. If daughter and friend, or me and my gf ever need to use the 'Cloud, then we can make our appropriate settings during daylight hours. To continue into evening just ruins our enjoyment of tv or radio. We live our lives like this because when I was younger, paid the price of late night messing around. Now, I shut off my phone and other devices without second thought.
Long ago I told her that blue light emanating off our smartphones and tablets will mess with our sleep causing untold amounts of insomnia, and we cannot claw back our sleep because blue light suppresses melatonin, so our minds never get to shut down. And this is why all of us stop using our devices 2 hours before bedtime. Turn your phones off. Otherwise you'll get problems sleeping.
Prolonged insomnia causes depression, anxiety and in some cases weight gain.
Glad I won't be working tomorrow. G'night!
