I've experienced itchiness (mild, but definite) when starting certain new meds. Neither were the two you've mentioned, but I don't know if that matters. I believe that mild itchiness is a side effect of many meds - for me, it went away after a week or so after starting a new medication. I'd check your specific med side effects on google, but I believe there's reason to contact your pdoc only if there's severe itching and/or if you have a rash.
