I know what you mean. My uncle's old dog had colon cancer at the age of 3 or 4 and he couldn't bear to lose her. He had to get surgery for her and keep her on prescription food for the rest of her life. It was expensive as hell, but she was a happy, loving dog who got to live a full life with lots of doggie treats and belly rubs. He had no regrets.

Best of luck with your cat. I'm sure he is wonderful to be around.
