I was told I was psychotic during two severe depressions. The psychosis led to hospitalizations. I don't remember them. I'm unsure if I ever did.

I have most often had psychosis during manias, especially manias with mixed features. I remember a little bit of that time. Other details were lost. Some minor details were shared with me. I read a little in hospital records, but many records are vague. Some were clearly traumatic, which likely contributed to the amnesia.

I can't relate when people write that they are "currently" psychotic. I can relate to some insight when psychosis comes and goes within short periods, but not while it's happening.
