For a lot of newer drugs (rexulti, vraylar, etc.), you can find discount cards and/or get free samples from your pdoc, if she is willing to play that game.
In my opinion though... cheaper drugs should be tried first. I don't know why pdocs insist on expensive drugs, other than they are perhaps getting paid by pharmaceutical companies to promote them.
If you do add rexulti, you should know that it's very similar to abilify. That can be good or bad, depending on how you reacted to abilify. I find it helpful, but I don't think it works well for mania. (It isn't even FDA approved for treating mania.)
