sometimes pets are like 2 year old children. they don't understand their owner has to work. some go through separation anxiety or need that extra attention when their owner is busy. I think of it like a parent on the phone. the parent can be doing nothing and the 2 yr old child is perfectly happy playing on their own but the moment the parent gets on the phone wheres the 2 year old? trying to climb in the lap, pulling on the clothes, pulling on the arms, sitting on the floor at the legs saying mommy moommmy look it.

the way I helped my pets understand about work at home is by placing a chair or stand and a blanket on it with in my reach. I have the pet climb up before I get to work and have it lay down (good and caring pet owners take the time to train their pets to behave, just like they would a toddler giving them a place to sit and a book and toys with in reach of the mom) then when the pet is doing what its supposed to be doing (laying quietly with their toy and blanket give the reward a treat or extra loving and saying good boy or good girl, you are being so good right now thank you. just like you would a two year old child. the consistent a parent is, their fur baby learns that they are ok laying there on their very own blanket with their very own toy that's only allowed in that one spot to play with.

family pets like toddlers sometimes need to relearn what they already know what to do, the key is consistency with the teaching and follow through. Some days I work at home and I have 6 dogs, three cats and then some and each of them understand when its work and when its play.
