Yeah I agree that the 1/3 statistic seems high.

However...I also agree with what they said that sometimes - in SOME cases not all - the stability of the mother IS more important to the baby's health than the chance of the drugs passing thru. If the mom gets so bad that she can't take care of herself...then yeah, that hurts the baby.

MILD depression - uhm, yeah I think the mom should wean off meds during pregnancy. But more severe depression and more severe psychiatric issues really do need to be controlled in some women.
