I'm sorry you had that experience. Bipolar disorder puts you at an increased risk for substance abuse and "self medication."

Another part of addictive personalities is they don't like to give up what they like. I think you should be prepared for him to try to communicate with you. Have you thought what you are going to say to him?

Also, I'm glad you gained a new perspective on your relationship. Do you feel like your Manic symptoms have subsided now?
