I really want to eat something healthful, but I'm not up to cooking. Hubby is going out with his buddies for dinner. It's so hard to find quick healthful food in the grocery stores. Everything in their hot foods section is junk food, everything in the salad bar is either just raw individual vegetables and lettuce or pasta or salads (with few vegetables). Any other place will be mostly starchy carb, meat, and usually cheese. There are so many vegetable dish options that could be offered. Whole Foods used to have many, before Amazon took it over.
Yesterday, I burned my thumb on the heating element in my toaster oven. It didn't even hurt. I knew my thumb touched it, but only when I looked at it did I see a sear mark. It kind of concerns me how/why I feel less pain from injuries than I likely should. I know many here would like to throw a pie in my face for saying this, but it is a concern. I burn and bruise myself a lot. I'm not saying I have never felt pain, but even when I have had severe migraines, the nausea/vomiting was far worse than my head pain. On my way to the dining room, holding the small quiche that was in the mentioned toaster oven, I dropped it and it landed top down on the dining room floor. It wasn't because of heat, but carelessness. I often lose hold of things, dropping dishes/glasses, knocking things over, etc. I blame my Tegretol for that, and also wonder if it contributes to my high pain threshold. I found journal articles online that suggest that it might.
