Valentines day is a marketing ploy. It is just a chance for card manufacturers and candy companies and jewelers to get their hands on your money. It was always a traumatic day for me, starting when I was schoolaged.... you know how those little valentines card things go... some kids always get left out.

I've been with my husband for 10 years now, and the anniversary of our first kiss is infinitely more important than some commercial spending spree day.

Don't feel bad about being alone on the 14th. It might be what you need right now... time to figure yourself out. Take some time for yourself instead... indulge in something special... a long hot bath or a new book or new shoes or whatever would be pampering to you. And don't let the stupid Hallmark company ruin your day.
