Yeah. People don't talk about the negative impact higher IQ has on cognitive and emotional functioning, because they're too busy being jealous of people with higher IQs. It really is a double-edged sword. Most geniuses aren't actually better equipped for the real world than your average person, and end up working dead-end jobs like everyone else. The issues that come from having a high IQ are partially responsible for that.

There are a lot of therapists that will find you obnoxious for talking about the problems associated with being extremely intelligent, though, for the same reason you're not allowed to talk about how being extremely famous, wealthy, or attractive each have their own severe downsides. Which is frustrating, because when you're that intelligent you can recognize how irrational and emotional people are when they just assume that your life is better and has less problems just because you're more intelligent. Clearly, that's never been how the world works. I do think that there are some therapists out there that are willing and able to help you, however, and there are even a few psychologists that work specifically with the gifted.
