I found this about it:

But, when I googled "Empress of Uruguay" I found another impressive amethyst geode:

Found in northern Uruguay, the Empress of Uruguay stands nearly 11 feet tall. Comprised of an outer rim of granitic rock, the cavernous inside is filled with deep purple crystal amethysts.

The picture doesn't show the same geode in my original picture.

At any rate, the size is astonishing! And yes, they are genuine geodes!
