i'm confused..if all you did was send a message, how did they take your money? are there other communities you can try? I don't know the uk but let's say in the us, instead of nyc, try nj or say philly? I realize it might be a tight knit community...but it might be worth a try. perhaps contact colleges and see if they can hook you up with something..get your name back in the world thru work with them...it is a start..fresh path sort of. and if nothing else you will be working, using your skills, which will keep you active and feeling better, bonus points.
