It makes total sense you might be feeling vulnerable. We all feel vulnerable when we expose ourselves. Sometimes, we need some time.
You've also been feeling some anger surfacing. You're very concerned you might hurt someone with your anger.
You've had great luck with taking control and with calming the pace at which the anger rises, keeping the anger manageable, so far.
Maybe your feelings are overwhelming right now?
I totally agree with fern, it's healthy to set boundaries. You have mentioned closing the cave door to some people. this is a healthy strategy to handling your emotions while remaining open to people you enjoy .
If, at any time, you feel you need to close the door to everyone, then do so, taking time for yourself.
