I get manic mostly at night. My situation is a little different. My mania is triggered my one of my people, who doesn't like to sleep. Mine doesn't seem to be similar to yours though. My T thinks it's just low blood sugar as I'm not bipolar. Only recently had I found out who was causing my mania. So for me, when I get manic, I'm not "me". I'm mostly co-con. so I can observe & just go on w/ my life while my person is getting things done.
Mania can be from so many things. Bipolars I've talked to relate to the can't remember things. For me, my Body is taken over. Only a doc can tell you if it's part of DID.
Don't know if this helps any.
Love,
