this reminded me of a friend's daughter- she was astounded that I even own tools (hammer, screw driver etc) and that i could actually USE them! I changed the chain on the swing to a rope, and did everything myself. Cass (11) was amazed (Knowing a little about her mother, as it's her dad I'm friends with, I believe she is someone who gets others to do every last little thing for her). Of course, it's nice to be the 'damsel in distress' too- worked out very well for me one day when I ran out of petrol on the motorway off-ramp; before I could collect my thoughts guys from 3 diff cars were pushing me to the side .
*this is not running down anyone who does ask for help; I have always found asking for anything too hard, and I am fiercely independant too!
