You might be describing dissociative amnesia. It is when you have extensive memory loss of traumatic events in your life. Some might argue that it is a lesser form of Dissociative Identity Disorder in which the person's personality fragments into seemingly different personalities or "alters" as they are commonly called.

Eitherway this is not the best route to a diagnosis. You should consult a Mental Health Professional if you feel like something is wrong.
