I don't have any particular "comfort food," but I do really enjoy Indian dishes. I find curries to be very flavorful, filling, nutritious, and healthy (well, depending on which type of curry...).
Whenever I'm not feeling well, I ask my mom to eat Indian food with me. Indian is her favorite cuisine too, so she never says no to that.
I don't know why it took so many years for me to try Indian food, but I'm glad I finally did try it. I highly recommend people to try it if they haven't already, especially if you're vegetarian because there are so many vegetarian options with curries. It's VERY vegetarian friendly. I wish I could eat it all day; that's how much I love it.
I do not do indian desserts, though. Just not a fan of the fried ball things that are soaked in syrup, or the watery rice pudding. I also don't do mango pudding or mango ice cream. So, I just stick with the curries and breads.
