I know it sounds kind of weird to be happy about my minimum wage job, but whatever. Anyway, I found out today that I'm one of my boss' favorite employees because of my work ethic. Which is really surprising for me to hear as I'm constantly down about how much of a failure I am and how much I suck at my job, blah blah. This recognition has been a massive boost to my self-esteem in the workplace. Apparently the other managers were also ecstatic at the prospect of me putting in more hours (I don't work that much).
It's funny. Work seems to be the place where I'm mostly okay unless something triggering happens.
I got sooo much done tonight. I thought it was going to be a terrible shift since I hadn't slept but it turned out to be one of the greatest and most satisfying ever. I can't even put into words how great it felt to make every single item on the shelves absolutely perfect and flush. It was divine. I was so productive!
Yes, I'm a weirdo. I get my kicks from stocking shelves. Sometimes. Tonight I did, and it was awesome.
Honestly it's weird, I often consider myself barely or non-functioning in many respects, and to hear this is like... What?
