I'm sick and very scared. I have a fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, terrible body ache, and tight chest. All the symptoms except dry cough.
I work at a hospital and am afraid I've given it to co-workers, who desperately need to be there, or even to patients; I could have been a carrier for a few days.
I'm seeing my doctor through video at 11am. I'm told that she will determine if I need to get tested or not. I'm hoping they have testing kits, many don't, and that I'm not sent to an ER for testing.
I could also potentially go to Employee Health at the hospital (with a mask) for screening/testing, but that's usually where you go if you're already in the hospital; I don't know if my boss will say I can't enter the hospital with these symptoms, even if I'm just going there...
I guess the silver lining is that I'm very fortunate to live in a nice apartment, and to be an introvert, so staying home for some time will not affect me as much as some others. Also, I have a friend who said she could go grocery shopping for me and leave the bags at my doorstep. That was very sweet and I think a good idea.
