Our capital city is locking down seven municipalities with the highest incidence of cases tonight. People will have to go online and apply for a permit if they need to go out to buy groceries, medication or to get medical assistance. These are limited to one person per household and there are time limits. You can also apply for a half-hour permit to walk your dog. Employers also will be giving permits for their essential workers. If you are on the street, military or police personnel can stop and ask for your permit.

The city also has health checkpoints on major highways and roads for anyone that wants to enter. This applies to the whole city, not just the quarantine areas

About a year ago, we left the capital to move to a more rural area to the south of the city. We are still in the Metropolitan Region, but in a different province. There have only been 2 reported cases in our municipality, both were in the same household, so we aren’t under those sorts of restrictions out this way. We definitely won’t be heading into the capital, though. I don’t want to deal with checkpoints.
