this past week i was at a couple really good seminars on brain and trauma ... 2 different doctors spoke about the importance of having patients get brain scans before prescribing meds... they said that most are on the wrong meds when they come to them. They said that an good example are children who are hypervigilant display the same behaviors of children with add... the problem is that with children who have add the frontal lobe isn't being stimulated and that is why stimulants help those children... a child who has been traumatized and is in the constant state of fight or flight (hypervigilant) state.... when they are given a stimulant it can cause them far more damage... It was there beliefs that brain scans should be done on a regular basis before meds are given... i have tried 3 different antidepressants ... this one seems to be working... but who knows????...lyn
