My Mazanec (Easter bread) tasted yummy. That was the treat of the morning.

I needed to go to the pharmacy and grocery store, briefly. I have been wearing vinyl gloves for quite a while now, when in stores, but hubby convinced me to wear a surgical mask. We only have a few. I was far from the only person wearing both. I looked at those that had neither, and sadly most with neither were elderly folks. It's hard to know how many of them just had no access to either, and how many think the coronavirus pandemic is overblown or "a hoax". One older man with neither was at the baguette section as I first entered. I wanted a baguette, so I stood afar. For some reason he decided to handle about five of them, clearly indecisive which one to take. During his "decision-making" I saw him cough towards them, obviously not covering his mouth. I was like "Gee whiz!" and moved on.

I recall a couple members here on PC discussing cleaning groceries when they got home, for safety-sake. My husband has done that the last few times we bought stuff. At first I thought it was a little OCD"ish", but now I think it rather wise.

Today at the grocery store, I noticed that they installed see-through Plexiglass shields between the cashiers and where customers stand when their orders are being scanned. This is just within the last few days. I think it is a good idea, frankly. I had been a bit worried for the cashiers. Also, customers with canvas or other reusable bags must bag into them, themselves. The cashiers will only help bag groceries if store-provided plastic or brown bags are used. That also makes sense. No one where I live likely minds much, since we usually bag most (or all) of our own groceries, anyway. The only grocery store that always bags for customers is Trader Joes. That may change. Actually, some stores have opened more self-checkout stations in recent weeks.

The grocery store I went to had mostly normally stocked shelves EXCEPT the toilet paper and paper towels. None and almost none, respectively. Some types of yogurt are still hard to find. I have a couple jokes in my head about the toilet paper frenzy, but I'll leave them to myself.

I called my dad. He's OK.
