I'm female, and I actually sort of prefer male T's. For whatever reason, I find it easier to open up to a male. As for how they are, it can vary widely. My ex-marriage counselor was male and very warm and fuzzy. My current individual T is male and is, to use his words, "caring, but not warm and fuzzy" (though he has his moments of warmth and/or, er, fuzz?). My ex-T was female but not particularly warm and fuzzy either. So much is about their personality and how they practice. So I'd give it a try.
