Today would be my grandpa's birthday...he died 3 years ago...

He was so special...alongside being completely stubborn, he was so kind. Although he had some peculiararities, they were all in good spirit. My family comes from extremely poor stock, so to speak. Grandpa was born in a one-room shack...a shack he had lived in all of him childhood. There was a well in the middle of the shack for water...it's amazing how The Depression had made him so very strong...he'd train hop just to get to work and everything.

I remember spending time with him a lot...I think I was his favorite...I spent the most time with him out of all his grandchildren. But ya know, one of the things that I remember the most is when he confided in me that he wanted to quit taking all his meds just so he could die. He just hated taking those meds so bad and was depressed...

Even though it was hard taking care of him before he died, I still miss him dearly.
