Okay, after this I'll stop the rant, but the more I think about this the angrier I become. Schools are supposed to provide a safe environment for young ones. Teachers are always, ALWAYS, required to be on duty during playground activiities. The administration definitely needs to be contacted about this. Let them hear the word "lawsuit" for being lax in supervision and they'll step up their watchfulness of bullying. Schools hate to get entangled in lawsuits....believe me, I know! There are always two of us teachers supervising playground activities, and if a kid even gets knocked down accidentally, much less ruffed up in innocent play, we are in the office reporting it, with the offender(s) as well as the victim. There is no excuse for allowing three kids to be kicking one child! It definitely needs to be reported along with the strong question to the administrator of WHO is supervising the kids during playground activity. If I were the parent of such a child who was being bullied, I'd be in there in a flash threatening lawsuit ....just to get some supervision!
