Usually when you reach the point of needing a group home you no longer control your own medical care. People in group homes almost always have guardians, either appointed by the court or a family member. The guardians make the final decision since you've been deemed incapable of making your own decisions. If you are still making your own medical decisions, they cannot force you against your will. They can recommend but they can't force you. If they feel strongly you need a group home, they could petition the court for a guardian. That would be the only way they could force you.
