I think I can sympathize with what your friend is experiencing. (Probably a lot of us, here on PC as well as elsewhere, can. I was struggling with what I sometimes refer to as "generalized fear" (fear that is not directed at anything in particular) before Covid-19 came on the scene. But I have to say that, since Covid-19 showed up, my "fear-level" seems to be increasing. It's not even that I'm particularly afraid of the illness itself. It's just all of the over-the-top scary stuff you hear about in the news as well as on-line.
