It's really hard to be in a relationship with an alocoholic. Basically nobody stops drinking until they are ready to do it for themselves. Addiction is a very selfish disease.
i'd suggest you check out Alanon & see if they have meetings in your area. It's a 12 step support program for people who have friends or family who are alcoholic and I've heard really good things about it.
