well, i'm alone and here's how i'll spend 12 hours tomorrow. i'll get to work at 6:00 a.m. i'll walk through the dialysis room and speak to all of the patients that came in at 4:00 a.m. to spend part of their day hooked up to a machine so that they can live. around 8:00 one of our younger patients, A, will come in and immediately cover himself entirely with his blanket.......he doesn't only suffer from kidney failure, but major depression.....wonder why? then my favourite, C, will come in and i'll kid him about how good he looks after the weekend.....he'll grin and shake his head.......i'll start checking some of the patients out that did come in early.......noon will arrive and we'll eat our lunches on the run.....the third shift of patients come in then. some of them stay on the machine three or four hours and some are on for 6 hours.....around 6:00 p.m., we'll finish with the last one and do our paperwork and go home. my cats and dogs will greet me and i'll have dinner and then to bed........ .....dialysis is a very hard and difficult road to travel. AND of course i'll wish every patient a Happy Valentine's Day........
