When I get urges, I remind myself that cutting won't solve whatever is distressing me. I also use the app "Quit That" and checking how many days I've gone without self harming helps because I don't want to screw that up. I'll instead keep myself busy, perhaps by screaming to some older Linkin Park songs or going for a walk.
