Honestly........ from his POV as a doctor - he was probably trying to help her so she does not get lost in the justice system (like so many teenagers do) and become a more dangerous person as she ages in prison.

I fell for the poor girl that was beaten up - as no one should have to go thru such a brutal thing and especially during the wonderful years of being a teen.
