I've been to several variations of day treatment, and found them all helpful.

Broadly they were:
1. Post discharge from IP. These were designed to be a transition from the intense therapy of IP and going back to life. One was every day, but the others were just a few days a week. They were all based on group therapy. With two I did I also saw a pdoc once a week.

2. IOP rehab for alcohol abuse.
10 week programs, daily, with lots of different group therapy, and regular one - on - one appointments with one of the staff team.

3. Partial hospitalization program, 3 weeks of daily treatment, full days, mostly group therapy but some one on one. Because I also had an addiction, I saw an addictions counsellor daily and a pdoc once a week.

Hope that helps.
